Move on Karl

The way Karl Lagerfeld is staging himself has gotten to a point where it's becoming a bit ridiculous. In my eyes he's just so desperate of getting his name into the fashion history books, and not be forgotten that he's putting bits of himself in any thing he's doing. That can be a good thing, but with him it's getting a bit obsessed. I don't get  his urge to always say "I'm still here. I'm the one who made this. I'm Karl Lagerfeld". Come on. We know who you are, you don't need to reminds os every minute. I'm so tired of men with such low self-esteem that they constantly need to stage them self and remind everybody else about their being.

Dior and Coca Cola

It's always very interesting to watch some photos from the backstage of a fashion show. It gives you an extraordinary view into the fashion world, and how a show is put together. It really shoes how many people there are involved with the 20 minutes shows. This is a photo from Dior's latest haute couture show in Paris. I love the mix of the very theatrical make up and a coca cola can.

I also want yellow dresses!

I'm missing summer so so much. I'm missing the sun, the warm weather, and all the beautiful summer clothing. This yellow dress by Thakoon is probably not the best dress for me, because my skin tone is so light. But it's so pretty. I'm so mad that I can't wear yellow. This dress would be a perfect macaroon outfit.

A more interesting Armani

If you want a beautiful suit, Armani is the one to go to. I'm a bit tired of Armani because I don't  he's really renewing himself. His style is very beautiful, but very very safe. But I must say, even though some of the outfits were very safe Armani style, there were some looks that I didn't expect at all! Some very futuristic outfits that really suited Armani very well.

A fashionable mummy?

Okay I don't really get what's going on with Valentino here. Well I guess that if I want to get mummified this is the way to go. Then I could be the most fashionable mummy in the world. Wrapped in Valentino. But then on the other hand - not so fashionable. Just rather odd and just not in any way Valentino chic.

It's only because it's Chanel that it's okay

I'm not really feeling the Chanel vibe today. I'm not really feeling Karl Lagerfeld's idea with this. I see a clear Chanel throughout it. And that's of course a good thing. But when the classic suits are off the runway I don't see a red thread. There were some looks that referenced to the latest Chanel collection in Shanghai. Then there were some looks that made me think of the Russian pre fall 2009 collection. And then there were of course some looks that reminded me of the spring 2010 collection with the very romantic idyllic vibe to it. The spring 2010 haute couture collection was a mix match of to many ideas in one collection. I'm sure that the clientele of Chanel haute couture dress will love this, because it is so Chanel. I would just love to see some rethinking from Karl Lagerfeld. I know that what he does he's famous for, but come on, can it really be possible that Karl Lagerfeld is the only designer in the fashion world, who is allowed to stay the same year after year?
The color palette was of course very spring'ish with the light pinks, yellow, cream white, and baby blue. But the grey nuances were odd to me. The looked more like dirty white than actual light grey. Dirty white that's a hard color to wear!

The haute Couture is here! Spring is coming

On of the shows I'm looking the most forward to is the Dior haute couture show. I have chosen to show the pictures from the show from backstage. Because I love that Dior showed their collection at their head quarters on Av. Montaigne, and that their backstage then isn't a boring tent or something like that, but a beautiful locations even into the very busy backstage.
The collection was as always very Galliano. With lots of tulle, pearls, thick silk, beautiful shapes and colors. The riding theme in the start was a bit to much for my taste, but John Galliano need a theme to work with to get to the big dresses in the end. And this time the 1800th century horse bag riding was the theme. I guess.

Every thing that sparkles is my friend

Bijoux Heart is a UK-based jewelry brand. With inspirations sources as art deco and burlesque the jewelry coming out from this little company are just my taste; to much without it being over the edge. Sometimes it is over the edge. Perhaps that's why I love it. It is with jewels like these that the little black dress really is a must.

Interpretations of the little black dress

When in doubt - always chose a little black dress. The phenomenon created by Coco Chanel herself is as important today as at her time. The little black dress is an icon in many shapes. Here are some examples that I would love to have in my closet. From left: Hervé Léger, Giambattista Valli, Donna Karan, D & G, Alice+Olivia.

Cakes and couture

I think that I would wear one of these dresses when I'm going to Ladurée with John Galliano who I would love to split a lemon or raspberry macaroon with. Here it is dresses from the haute couture show fall 2009.

The perfect ring for a little black dress

These fine jewelry by Victoire de Castellane for Christian Dior are just amazing. I would love to have them all in my jewelry box, but then I think my insurance company could cut me off. But who need insurance when you can have these?! I'm trying to convince myself that my bank wouldn't get upset by me bankrupting myself... My bank could be happy to know that with a ring like this I don't need a big fancy dress. On the contrary actually. With a ring like this even a black dress for H & M would shine.

My best friend Marie

I think that Marie Antoinette and I would have been a great couple. For many reasons; to just name a few: We both love fashion - especially the big gowns. Especially the big gowns that looks like cakes. Which lead me to the next thing: We both love cakes. Lovely cakes that looks like the gowns we are wearing while we eat the cakes. The next thing we both love are dogs. Here I think about the mops. And last but not least: We both adore shoes. I am sure that Marie Antoinette would fit perfectly into the clientele of Christian Louboutin and Salvatore Ferragamo.
