Sometimes Dolce et Gabbana are just spot on

Usually I find Dolce et Gabbana a bit boring and I can't really understand how they can get so popular. But then again when they pull something of like they did in their show for fall 2006, I really understand why people adore them so much. I think that Napoleon's Josephine would have been proud and bought it all. It was clear to see that she had been one of the biggest inspirations to that collection.
There are just some collections that you remember because of their greatness. And this is truly one of them.

He never disappoint his audience

Thomas Maier always makes me happy with his work for Bottega Veneta. The resort collection for summer 2010 was as good as it gets. Not many designers can make a whole collection where every piece is something you would like yourself. That's my kind of guy. Another thing I really adore about Bottega Venta is that it's so clear to see that all, and I mean all, the materials are the best you can get. Of cause all the big fashion houses uses only the finest qualities, but it's not always that visible. And sometimes you just wonder how they can get away with so high prices. But at Bottega Venta it's okay with the extreme prices, because you can really see and feel that what you buy is really made with love and with the finest materials. That is a quality that I hope Bottega Veneta will always maintain.
I also have to mention the colors in this collection. The color pallet is just to die for. So delicate and spicy. Very low key but maintaining the coolness and the classy chic look that is so perfect in these times of crisis.

Olivier Theyskens takes Nina Ricci to the underworld

Maybe Olivier Theyskens was inspired by Pan's Labyrinth in his last collection at Nina Ricci. The faun from the movie would in any case get along with the tall models on the catwalk in Paris. There is something about those Nina Ricci shoes that reminds me of all the darkness in our dreams and subconscious. It is actually really scary.

The Donna way

As I get older I get more and more in love with Donna Karan. Her resort collection for summer 2010 was very feminine not to mention very wearable, which is for the time being such an important factor. The resort collections are always small, and the Donna Karan was as well a collection of only 29 looks. But it's clear to see that they may not be a lot of looks, but thy were well chosen.
